This post should aptly be named Shopping List but I like the whimsical feel of the title Wishlist. These are a few products I'm lusting right now.

* NARS Gaiety - This is a new blush from their Spring Collection. I already own Desire and Mata Hari so I'm debating whether I actually need it but I definitely want it.

* Chanel Compact Mirror - I've been meaning to repurchase this ever since I misplaced mine (and few other things) in an unfortunate lost luggage incident of '06. I am drawn to this purely for the packaging, obviously.

* Prada Candy - Adore this fragrance.

* Missha BB Cream - I've tried a couple Western BB creams but I wasn't really happy with them. So I've got my eye on a few Asian BB creams.

* Chanel Blush Horizon - A limited edition blush from the Spring Collection. This blush is beautiful. Expensive but beautiful. Hopefully it's still available at my local Chanel counter. Fingers crossed.

While I'm trying not to purchase anymore nail polishes, here are some of the colours I've been eyeing. Starting at 12 o'clock...

* butterLONDON Trout Pout
* Essie A Crewed Interest
* Orly Jealous, Much?
* Essie To Buy or Not to Buy
* butterLONDON Slapper
* Orly Prelude to a Kiss
* butterLONDON - Knackered
* Essie Navigate Her

What's on your wishlist?

NOTD #18: Julep Taylor & Maya

Written by:

These are the two polishes I received in my first Julep box:

* Taylor - a periwinkle blue
* Maya - shimmery, peachy pink

They are both beautiful colours in the bottle. Taylor applies flawlessly and barely takes two coats for an even finish. Maya is a little more finicky. Due to the nature of the pearl finish, the brush strokes are really noticeable and it's very difficult to even it out.

Julep polishes range in value from $10 to $14 (depending on whether you receive them in a monthly box or purchase them individually) and they contain 8mL of product in each bottle. Considering that Essie polishes are about $8 with 14mL of product, you don't receive that much product for the amount you pay with Julep.

Overall: Taylor

Lasting Power: ♥♥♥♥

Overall: Maya

Like I said, I probably won't be purchasing this box on a monthly basis. However, the penny promo at Julep is still available if you want to try it out! The code is COLOR2012 and you can order yours here (LINK!).

Week in Photos

Written by:

Hi lovelies,

I hope you had a lovely week! Mine went by fairly quick as per usual.

* I sat in on the Nortel trial -- it's one of the biggest fraud trials in Canadian corporate history. The trial only began a couple weeks ago (and it's expected to drag on for 6 months), so, it's a little dry. They're going through each and every pro forma and GAAP statement that Nortel had to build a timeline. Still, I was fascinated.

* I've been on a cupcake binge lately but I think I'm going to switch my focus to Macarons (aka Macaroons)! If anyone knows a great bakery that sells them in the GTA, please let me know :).

* I discovered Green Tea Ginger Ale, which is delicious. It's the best of both worlds.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Julep Maven - Classic with a Twist

Written by:

Julep Maven is the only subscription service that I'm not that interested in. The company is great but I think $20 a month for nail polish is an unnecessary luxury right now. In hindsight, I have spent more than that on nail polish in the past.

I'm trying not to buy too many polishes this year, so I didn't want to commit to $20 a month for polishes (and I know, you can skip a month.. but why sign up just to skip every month). However, when I found out that they were having a $5 promo, I caved.

After taking their style quiz, I turned out to be Classic with a Twist. You can change the box you receive (in case you don't like the colours in your 'style'), but I just stuck with what I got because none of the other boxes overly appealed me.

I received an Age Defying Hand Brightener and two polishes: Taylor (periwinkle creme) & Maya (shimmery peachy pink).

The colour and application of the polishes is beautiful. I will have swatches in the next couple of days.

Julep boxes ship from Seattle (in the US), so it took about a week and a half to reach me in Toronto.

While I enjoyed the products I received, I probably won't be subscribing on a monthly basis. I just don't have room for more nail polish in my life right now.

If you haven't tried Julep yet and you're Canadian, now is a good time to! They're having a great promo where you can get a box for only one penny. Yeah, 1 cent! Use the promo code: COLOR2012.

EDIT: Actually, the total comes to under $2... Darn tax ;).

Have a great day!

NOTD #17: Essie Mamba

Written by:

Essie Mamba has been my go-to nail colour for the last few months. I adore the look of it on my nails. It's a very neutral polish with a light pink undertone. It's quite similar to Butter London's Tea with the Queen.

They're not exact dupes, but they're similar. I think Tea with the Queen is a truer nude, though. I haven't gotten around to comparing them side by side, but I will soon.

Hope you're all having a great day!
