I have been a lover of micellar water ever since I discovered Bioderma many moons ago. It's essentially a liquid makeup remover and it's one of the best (and most gentle) removers I've ever used. It removes most makeup quite easily (even waterproof mascara). The best part is that it doesn't leave a residue, so no rinsing required if that's how you roll.

The Bioderma Micellar waters now come in three different versions: Sensibio (the original), Sébium (for combination skin) and Hydrabio (for dehydrated skin). Sensibio is still king (it's difficult to beat the classic fragrance-free solution) but Hydrabio is slowing earning a place in my heart. I love the hydrating properties!

Micelle solutions are very thin liquids and cannot be applied directly to the face, so it's best applied using a cotton square (if you haven't already tried the MUJI cotton squares, you are missing out—they're an exact dupe for the coveted Shiseido version but at a fraction of the price).
