Here's a look at what I've been carrying around with me this past long weekend. I typically don't carry this much on the daily.. but when I'm away from home, a lot of things trickle into my makeup bag that I would typically keep in an overnight bag.
It has been a little over a year since my last what's in my makeup bag and I'm still using the same Forever21 case. I'm incredibly impressed with its durability, especially since I'm rather rough with it.
For a base, I've mainly been using my TiZO3 sunscreen. I love the fact that it's tinted! It doesn't offer any coverage, but it still looks great on. I have a mini bottle of Bioderma Sébium H2O. I hate layering sunscreen in the summer -- it just feels messy -- so I often wipe my face clean first. I also like to keep a thermal water spray and a makeup setting spray on hand, along with my beloved Shiseido cotton pads (they live inside a little pouch that used to house a Lululemon gift card).
For powders, I've been traveling with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light, the Dior Healthy Glow powder in Sunlight, and whatever blush I'm using that day (in this case, a Shu Uemura blush palette).
One thing that was lacking in my makeup bag and my overnight bag... brushes. I completely spaced. The only brush I brought with me was the mini kabuki brush that came with the Dior bronzer. It worked quite nicely, though.
I've been using the Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes mascara (it's one of my favourite mascaras & I'm in love with the limited edition packaging) with the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara.
For a lightweight under-eye brightener, I've been reaching for the YSL Touche Éclat in #3. It's a great complexion highlighter, too.
For the lips, I have an assortment of products (& this is traveling light). I always keep some sort of lip balm on hand, lately it has been the Kiehl's Lip Balm #1.
I carry whatever lipsticks / lip glosses that I'm gravitating to. Can you see a pattern? I was all about pinks and corals this past weekend.
MAC Crosswires (a coral pink) is a beauty alone and when layered with the Shiseido Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer. My current favourite bright pink lip combo is Chanel Rouge Allure in Kensington (this is unfortunately limited edition) with the revamped Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Pink Pop.
I can't forget my old faithful, a simple nude lip gloss, more specifically, the Burberry Lip Glow in Rosewood.
Lastly are the makeup bag accessories. I used to always keep hair elastics in my bag, but with the short 'do, I turn to hair clips instead. A wide tooth comb is always a good thing -- my hair seems to be in perpetual knots. Mini Tweezerman tweezers for those little touch ups. And a compact mirror.
What things do you keep in your makeup bag? x
Ps, hope all my Canadian loves had a fabulous Canada Day & long weekend! :)
I love De-Slick by Urban Decay :)
ReplyDeleteP.S.: If you want, check my blog (veroblog28.blogspot.com). I did a haul from my vacation in Florida !
You carry so many lippies around! I love that you have so many high end products, I am sometimes too afraid to dish out so much on products that I may not feel like are worth it >.< I definitely need to look into that sunscreen though..!
ReplyDeleteI see many similarities in our bags! I love the Clarins Instant Light Perfector as well as Lancome's limited edition packaging! I just got the Hypnose Drama one and I am so excited to use it just for the packaging!
ReplyDeleteMAC's Crosswire's looks beautiful, I need to check it out! :)
