Real Techniques | Stippling Brush

I just got this brush yesterday and I love it already! I purchased it through Amazon (US version), it was reasonably priced at $9.99 (a steal considering the quality) and shipping to Canada was around $8.

Now, technically, this is a foundation brush but that's not why I bought it. I bought it for cream blushes. I was watching one of Estée's (from EssieButton) videos and she mentioned that this was a great brush for that purpose.

I really don't like using my fingers for cream blushes -- I find it hard to blend to a natural finish, you get product all over your fingers, and it's unsanitary.

Though I can't comment on how it performs with foundation, here are my thoughts...

What I love:
* The size of this brush is amazing for blush application.
* The brush hairs are synthetic so it packs on colour instead of absorbing it.
* It's so soft!
* I like the density of the hairs.
* It's quite affordable.

What I don't love:
* The base of the handle. The brush feels great in the hand but the base is impractical for me. It's great that you can stand it up on your counter but how am I supposed to get a beloved brush guard over that? Also, if you keep your brushes in jars (with or without beads), it's a little awkward with this brush design. Plus I don't see it having the longevity of a regular ol' handle.

Other than that, I absolutely love this brush and would highly recommend. I am also expecting the expert face brush any day now, so expect a review on that soon. I have tons of new products collecting that I should really haul/review.

What other Real Techniques brushes would you recommend? x

    1. I just added it to my cart and it worked out fine. Amazon doesn't ship all their products to Canada but they do ship certain items. This is one of them. The downside is that you always have to pay for shipping. They don't offer free shipping to Canada. And if you spend more than a certain amount they will charge you a duty. No tax though :).

  2. i found your blog recently and i love it! it's nice to read about products i can easily get in canada!

    i started using cream blush a little while ago, and i love the lasting power and the convenience of not -needing- a brush, but i do agree that the finish isn't as natural as powder blush. i'll take a look into this brush! do you dip it in your blush before bringing it to your face, or do you dot your cheekbones/apples with a little bit of blush before blending in?

    1. Thanks for reading! And I usually just swirl the brush in the cream blush, dot it on my cheeks and then blend. Often it doesn't even look like I'm wearing a blush because it looks so natural (depending on the colour you use haha) x

    1. I had no problems ordering from Amazon. They don't always ship to Canada but these brushes they do. You just have to pay for shipping because they don't offer free shipping no matter how much you spend. Also if your total is under $20-25 you don't get charged tax. But if it's more than that, you have to pay duty/tax. Definitely check amazon out. They carry the whole range of Real Techniques brushes! x

  4. When oh when will we finally get these in Canada? I'm not even usually a brush person but I love Pixiwoos and have heart lots about their brushes. But as for the whole tax/duty thing, I might just hold off a bit more until I can head down to across the border to an ULTA again >.<

    1. I know! I've been waiting for them to come and it's taking forever! I just couldn't wait anymore lol. Yeah, luckily I didn't get charged tax on top of the $18 I spent -- I was actually really (pleasantly) surprised. When I go down to the US, I'm definitely going to raid their Ulta, Sephora, and Nordstrom of makeup haha x

  7. I love these brushes, I've been wanting to get my hands on them for a while, but just like you, amazon was the only way I could get my hands on them here in Canada. That is, until a recent trip down to Miami where I went slightly crazy and purchased almost all their brushes, they had a buy 1 get one 50% (if that justifies the impulse). Love the stripping brush!!

    1. I am so jealous!!! I will definitely be picking up some more brushes when I head to the US, fingers crossed I get some kind of BOGO deal. They really are great though! Inexpensive, great quality, and I find they dry quite fast after washing x

  8. After my Quo face powder brush kind of bit the dust, I got one of RT's face brushes from Amazon. I looove it, though I do have a similar issue as you do about the handles and not fitting into your jar with the other brushes. :/ I can get over it, but it is annoying!
