February GLOSSYBOX - Canadian Edition

Back in December, GLOSSYBOX contacted me about a complimentary box to celebrate the launch of the service in Canada.

Now it's finally here and available for purchase via GLOSSYBOX Canada.

GLOSSYBOX, for those of you who don't know or haven't read my previous post, is the newest subscription service to come to Canada. It costs $15 (including tax) and delivers five (or six) deluxe beauty samples to your door.

Now onto this month's box...

I love the stylish packaging of the GLOSSYBOX and the beautiful pastel box. The box itself is a little bigger than the other subscription boxes (though I don't have direct comparisons yet).

Inside the box was five products plus a bonus one.

* Elizabeth Grant Moisturizing Stick - a moisturizing balm that's perfect for those dry winter lips. This is a full-size product and it retails for $12.

* Oscar de la Renta Live in Love Body Lotion - smells just like the Eau de Parfum, a sensual floral scent. The lotion is nice on the skin but the scent is a little strong for my taste.

* Ahava Mineral Hand Cream - a lovely dead sea mineral hand creme. It smells great and it feels lovely on the hands.

* Essie Neo Whimsical - a beautiful polish! It's a lovely pastel pink/purple hue that looks lovely on the nails. This is also another full-size product and it retails for around $10 (depending where you purchase it).

* Elizabeth Arden Prevage Night Cream - a night cream that is supposed to help fight visible effects of environmental aging to enhance skin's moisture. I've tried a Prevage eye cream in the past but I did not like it. Hopefully this night cream shows better results.

* Bonus Beauty So Clean Sanitizing Wipes and Mist - I love the idea of this product. It's so important to sanitize your makeup occasionally because it could build up bacteria. I typically use rubbing alcohol but Beauty So Clean offers you another alternative. You can use the wipes for lipsticks or eyeliners --- I love how they are individually packaged so that you can take it with you on the go. The mist can be used on powder-based or cream-based products.

I was quite happy with this month's box... I don't know if I love it but I am excited about a few of the products (especially the nail polish).

What do you think? Will you be signing up (if you haven't already)?

P.S., I will be doing a comparison on the different services shortly :).

  2. Looks like a nice box. I'm considering getting it for a month just for fun, but I'm scared about getting doubles of some products, like that Ahava hand lotion, which I got in one of my Glymm boxes.

  3. @FashionFreak/Mihaela It's my fave brand! xx

@ProvincialBudgetBeauty Aw! Hopefully they will customize the products in their next box!

@Kristy I agree! I think that's the problem with these services if you're a makeup collector (or if you are subscribed to more than one box) -- you get multiples. It's annoying if you didn't like the product the first time you got it, but in this case I was happy because I actually really like the hand cream :).

  4. Great review :) I'm not sure if this is worth the higher price tag though... I will have to wait a few months to see what they come out with :)

  5. GlossyBox is a TERRIBLE company!

I am subscribed to Luxe Box (which I LOVE!) and Glymm. I signed up to receive the March GlossyBox but I won't be receiving it until April. Their delivery dates vary from month to month (exact words from their Facebook page) and are overpriced in my opinion.

I commented on their Facebook page on my dissatisfaction of hearing there is not set/approximate shipping date and ended up receiving a nasty email from one of their customer service representatives and was kicked out of their FB Page. I received some direct messages from other girls who weren't happy about the lack of communication regarding shipping dates and we soon found out that most of us were kicked off their page. I don't know about you but I find this to be TERRIBLE customer service.

If you think I'm over reacting please read/watch the reviews of other customers in Australia and in the UK. I am not alone in this.

Thank goodness I canceled my subscription before they billed me for another month!

I highly recommend Luxe Box! I have yet to get a product I don't like!! Glymm boxes are either a hit or miss. I would recommend checking them out too though!

    Stay away from GlossyBox!

  6. @Anonymous I find all these boxes are hit/miss. Some months are good, others are not. Everyone has different experiences -- I haven't loved every single box that I've received from Luxe Box or Glymm. I think I've been consistently pleased with Topbox, and I can't comment on Glossybox yet because I've only received one box.

I was annoyed that the March box was delayed. It's practically April and I have yet to receive my March box! However, Glossybox was upfront with the issue. Plus, it's the first instance, so it's too early to tell if this is going to a regular thing. I may eat my words later on, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

I've never had an issue with their customer service/FB page, so I can't attest to that. But it's unfortunate that they would redact unflattering comments.
