FOTD feat. Maybelline Color Tattoo

I have been using the same makeup routine for the past couple of weeks but I tried something a little different today.

I recently picked up a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe and wanted to see if it's worth all the hype.

From my experience, I think it is.

It goes on nicely, very easy to build and blend. There's a great color selection, it has great lasting power, and it only began to crease after about 6 hours of wear. These pictures were taken at the end of the day, so I've been wearing the shadow for around 11 hours. So far, I am pleased with it.

I only got one colour. I was tempted to buy every colour but I resisted. I will be getting one more though. I'm thinking Bad to the Bronze. It's the only other colour I know I will actually use.

This is what I've been sporting for the past few weeks (minus the eye makeup).

* Benefit Hoola - I've been contouring a lot lately and I find that this matte bronzer works the best for me. Plus, I see more and more pan every time I use it.

* NARS Orgasm - This blush has been through the ringer. I have given up trying to mend it, I always manage to drop it (hence the powdery mess).

* Benefit They're Real - I don't particularly love this mascara but I'm trying to use it up before I have to toss it.

* Revlon Temptress - I've been loving this color lately. It's a creme finish but it's actually quite sheer.

* Vasanti Caspian - This is a gorgeous gloss. It's a lovely bridge between pink and peach, i.e. a beautiful coral.

Wearing Tough as Taupe with Darkhorse (from UD NAKED1) in the crease.

Have you tried the new Color Tattoos? What do you think? Any color recommendations?

  4. I just recently purchased the Nicole by OPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie and the confetti-like chunky glitter is so pretty! One problem though, it's SO HARD TO REMOVE!! With just one coat, I had to soak my finger in polish remover and had to scrub the hell out of my nails. Did you have the same problem? If not.. what polish remover do you use? (even with that problem, i used it again and put on about 3 coats, so i'm not really sure how i'm gna get them off!)

    Thanks!

ps. JW what shade are you in MAC terms? I'm HORRIBLE at matching foundation esp. drugstore ones and no ones there to help you. I've wasted a lot of money coz i keep getting the wrong shade :( And also curious if Hoola bronzer will show on my skin.

  5. @Naghmeh Thank you! Caspian is a great colour, I think it would look great on you! And one of the brushes is from Vasanti and the red one is from Posh (you can find it at Rexall). I really like the Spa Resource brushes, too. They look so similar to Bobbi Brown ones and they're quite soft!

@Lora I have the same problem with glitter polish! It's so difficult to get off. I use a Soy polish remover because it's better for my nails considering the amount I use to get glitter off. Also, the technique I use is the tin foil one (i.e. soak cotton balls with polish remover, use tin foil to secure them on my nail, and let them sit for about 5 mins). It's easy and it works great. I like the soy polish remover because it's less drying on the nails and it leave my cuticles feeling moisturized :).

And as for my shade in MAC.. I'm around an NC42, I think. I kind of vary throughout the year depending on how much sun I get. I don't often purchase foundation because I never really use it. But I know it's kind of difficult sometimes to pick one, especially when there's no tester. I usually just try to match the colour to my neck/décolleté as much as possible :).
